Which medical TV shows do you like?
The results are in on the television programs you enjoy most and they might surprise you!
In our Nurse.com Nurses Week Content Survey, we asked if you enjoy medical shows on TV, which was your favorite and why. According to our survey, 69% of 439 respondents said they did enjoy this type of entertainment. Your choices ranged from newer series such as “New Amsterdam” and “The Good Doctor," to decades-old classics such as “Marcus Welby, MD”. In all, you named 26 different shows, including the write-in favorite, Grey’s Anatomy. Here’s how all the medical shows fared.
Other write-in responses picked shows such as Code Black (.5%), Trauma: Life in the E.R. (.5%) and Outlander (.2%)
When asked why you enjoyed these TV shows, 42% of respondents said they enjoy watcing the show simply because it’s entertaining, while 20% said the show is an example of how TV has come a long way in accurately depicting life as a healthcare provider, 14% responded the show makes you appreciate your job, and 11% said you like critiquing the characters’ medical techniques.
