State of the World’s Nursing Report launch — To honor World Health Day in April, The World Health Organization released the first report of its kind about nursing. In partnership with the International Council for Nurses and NursingNow,

National Skilled Nursing Care Week — The week-long celebration was previously known as National Nurse Home Week. It was established in 1967 by the American Health Care Association to recognize healthcare professionals that care for America’s elderly.

Florence Nightingale’s
200th birthday — The Lady with the Lamp will be recognized this year on the 200th anniversary of her birth. During the Crimean War, she cared for British and allied troops in Turkey and became the foundation of modern nursing.

The U.S. Senate is scheduled to be in session for the entire month of June. One of the bills under consideration is
